About
The Wheel of Well-being website
Body. Mind. Spirit. People. Place. Planet. Welcome to the Wheel of Well-being. If you’re interested in health and happiness – from a personal or a professional perspective – we hope you’ll find the WoW website a good place to start, and you’ll come back and visit often.
How to use this website
The website is divided into three sections.
WoW Yourself: This is a ‘do-it-yourself’ section. It’s full of practical things you can do to improve your well-being – tips to test, activities to try and places to visit.
WoW Your Community: If you work in the public, private or voluntary sector, this section gives you some inspirational ideas about using the Wheel of Well-being in your organisation, workplace or local community.
WoW Strategy: If you’re involved in policy development, public health or local government, this section will be of interest. It is still under construction, so if you’re interested in joining us in to shape it, or would like to know when it goes live, please get in touch.
Why well-being matters
More and more research is showing us how certain things we do can improve our moods, reduce the risk of depression, strengthen relationships, keep us healthy and even add seven years to our lives.
Our history
The Wheel of Well-being was designed in 2008 as part of a Big Lottery Well London’s programme. It is an ongoing collaboration between the Mental Health Promotion Team at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, Uscreates and Implemental (formerly Maudsley International). This website is currently maintained by Implemental.
